Night Boat to New York: Steamboats on the Connecticut River (1815-1931) by Erik Hesselberg

An extensive portrait of the vanished Steamboat days – when a procession of stately sidewheelers traveled regularly between Hartford and New York. Some 60 large steamships were in service on the Connecticut River during this amazing time bringing both people and goods to New York, and this is captured through many colorful images and stories.   We are proud to state that Griswold Inn’s owner Geoffrey Paul, among others, is acknowledged for his contributions to this volume of historical information through both his extensive maritime art collection, and prodigious knowledge of Connecticut River shipping and steamboats.  ~ Christine
